The original 1st replacement PMVF water filter for the SM-S230TL water ionizer is an active carbon filter that captures a significant number of pollutants and allows beneficial minerals to pass through.
 The water ionizer, thanks to the filter indicator, informs about the remaining life of the water filter. 
Optimal performance is always ensured by timely filter replacement, which is approximately 6 months with normal use of the ionizer but can be longer if the ionizer is used less.
